By going on this tour students can explore the different parts of Ellis Island and all of the stops immigrants had to take during their time at Ellis Island.  They can view real life photos, hear first-hand accounts of immigrants at Ellis Island, and read facts about this port.   This is a great way for kids to interact and engage.  They can see the different rooms and places for themself to understand what the immigrants saw during that time.

Throughout this game the student will create their very own passport, decide what they want to bring on their journey, travel the long distance to Ellis Island, go through all the different stops at Ellis Island, and eventually decide what to do after they have completed all their check-ins. Guided by Victoria Confino, an immigrant herself, students will be able to make decisions and see what their outcome is, if they have chosen well and what will happen to them on their journey.  This game helps make the books read about immigration and the stories reality for the students.

Listening to the words of this song and seeing all of the beautiful landmarks of the United States, it expresses what America is, a land for everyone.  This classic song helps illustrate how America is made up of different people, different groups, and different cultures but together, these differences make up America. It helps say, everyone is welcome.
